New single ‘Wounds’ out this Friday on Marquee Records! (07.10.24)

Category: News, single

Fresh from winning Glastonbury festival’s prestigious ‘Pilton Party’ competition, which saw him play alongside of The Libertines and CMAT (and in front of Pete Doherty, who watched, approvingly, from the wings, stage right) then touring the UK and Europe as sole support to Marc Almond; Alex Lipinski releases a new brand new tune: ‘Wounds’.

In a world that seems to be coming apart at the seams, the artist makes the argument that, somehow, we all find a way… ‘everyone has a secret song, playing all night long’ some kind of internal ‘off’ switch addressing the reality of ‘trying to conceal, scars that will not heal’.

On face value, here’s a song that lives in the darkness which, at some point, surrounds us all – but ask the songwriter and he’ll tell you that this is an anthem centred in redemption, resilience, and strength…

It won’t be like the time before, or the time before, or the time before’.
Wounds is a guitar soaked, tribal drum-driven war-cry. It’s about the mechanics of soul-survival in an era when ‘shut up and dance’ is as good a mantra as any. Whatever gets you through the night.

‘Wounds’. The new single from Alex Lipinski. Out this Friday (11th October) on Marquee Records.
