Pilton Stage Party Winners 2024! (02.09.24)

We had the pleasure of playing to a packed out sweaty Pilton Hall on The Pilton Stage last night as we shared the stage alongside 6 other brilliant artists.

I’ve never been a fan of entering a music competition – it’s reminiscent of being back at school entering a battle of the bands, and it’s certainly not the reason that we make, and play music.

However the opportunity to play The Pilton Party was too attractive not to throw our hat in the ring. It’s Glastonbury Festival’s ‘thank you’ to the local community it overwhelms each year, and this wrap party is close to Sir Michael’s heart: just as his whole ethos is close to ours.

The camaraderie, throughout, between musicians, and the support from event organisers made it a complete joy to be a part of.

I guess, if I’m honest, the winning through played no small part in that joyfulness…

The musical journey we’re on isn’t about getting a pat on the back, nor do we feel any need for validation.

But getting a bit of both, every now and then, doesn’t hurt at all. It felt pretty good when our name was called.

A huge thank you once again to the organisers: to Will, on sound; everyone who bought a ticket to see us, and all of the judges.

Sir Michael Eavis, Andy Bennett & Mel Everett who gave us the nod, alongside Liverpool rock and roller’s The Sway.

And, of course to my band, ‘The Crown Electric’ who, I have to say, are firing on all 12 right now.

Sadly, due to some licensing shenanigans (completely out of anyone’s control) the plug was pulled before our last song.

But, if it can happen to Bruce Springsteen & Paul McCartney I guess it can happen to us!

Anyway:

Come and hear the song they pulled, and a whole lot more this Friday night – when we support The Libertines and CMAT at Glastonbury Festival’s legendary Pilton Party.

See you on the farm….
